Great Yarmouth

Welcome to Great Yarmouth u3a. We are a self-managed and self funded organisation for people over 50, retired or semi-retired and living in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and surrounding villages.

Great Yarmouth u3a Annual General Meeting - 7 July 2026 @ 2pm

All current members of the Great Yarmouth u3a are invited to the Annual General Meeting of Great Yarmouth u3a. This will take place in St. George's Theatre on Tuesday July 2026 at 2pm

Documentation relating to the AGM will be posted on the Documentation page.

The meeting will be followed by a short talk from EACH. Groups are invited to set up a small display to promote their activities.

Committee members desperately needed

Please give some thought to joining our committee. We have Constitutional obligations which means that nobody should have a set role on the committee for more than 3 consecutive years. Most of our members have been serving our branch longer than this – changing roles to keep the committee going.

This cannot continue and we need new members, with fresh ideas, to keep the Great Yarmouth u3a going. We realise that many of you have already served in the past – it is the newer, and preferably younger member that we need to step up!

The meetings are presently 2 hours a month held before the main monthly meeting. This is not set in stone and could well be reduced in the future. If you can help, please contact any member of the committee

Proposed Outings

We are just getting back into organising day trips open to all members.

So far we have organised outings to Bressingham, Helmington Hall Plant Fair and a Christmas Special to Cromer.

We are also looking into the possibility of a short break a little further afield where we can stay in comfortable hotel with good food and evening entertainment. Included will be a day out to a local attraction. Go to Outings to find out more

Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups are the grass roots of the u3a. Set up by the members for the members, anyone can form a group that reflects their special interest be it a card game, keep fit or archeology. If you are a Great Yarmouth u3a member and interested in joining a group, please email the group leader on their group webpage for more information.
