Free Creative Writing Workshop - 8 August 2026 @ 12 noon
St. George's Theatre
This free workshop is open to anyone aged 50 and over. No previous writing experience is required.
The workshop, inspired by L.P. Hartley’s classic novel The Go-Between, will be a frame for an exploration of our own pasts to explore memory, place, and childhood.
How to join us
Our Membership year runs from the 1 April until the 31 March and costs £20 per year. Membership includes a free monthly talk with time to chat over a warm drink and biscuit when the meeting ends. Membership also gives you access to over 20 special interest groups.

Proposed Outings
We have 2 outings and 1 short break to look forward to between now and May 2027. All three depend on your support, so if you are interested in any of them, please let our Trips & Holiday Co-ordinator, Viv Sprason know as soon as possible.
- Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition at the British Museum in London - date to be determined
- Thursford Christmas Spectacular - a matinee performance in November
- 5-day break at Heythrop Park in The Cotswolds - May 2027

Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups are the grass roots of the u3a. Set up by the members for the members, anyone can form a group that reflects their special interest be it a card game, keep fit or archeology. If you are a Great Yarmouth u3a member and interested in joining a group, please email the group leader on their group webpage for more information.
