Our first meeting at The Jube
We were absolutely delighted to welcome over 140 members to our new home base, The Jube in Market Gates. Ample seating included plenty of comfortable alcoves and sofas, in addition to the traditional rows of chairs facing the main screen. With 4 or 5 additional screens and an excellent sound system, we all enjoyed a fascinating talk from Bill Lindsay.
Large tables and chairs enabled members to enjoy a hot drink and biscuit whilst chatting to friends in comfort after the talk.

Group News
- Garden Lovers Miniature Gardens - 15 September 2026 - we would like you to get your thinking caps on and produce an imaginative miniature garden. There are 3 categories ranging from teaspoons to 18" pots and fresh, artificial and crafty components are all allowed.
- Miscellany - the group will be having a go at Archery on the 16 September at the Warners' site in Corton
Outing News
- Booking has closed for the visit to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular and the 4-night break to Heythrop Park however Viv has opened a waiting list for both trips in case of cancellations.
- Day trip to London & The Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition - the date is yet to be confirmed but will probably be in the new year. If you are interested, please let our Trips Secretary, Viv Sprason, know so that the appropriate number of tickets to the exhibition to be secured

General News
- Foreign Currency Collection - we have found a company that will exchange foreign currency for cash which we will use to help fund Great Yarmouth u3a. If you any foreign currency at home, please bring it along to the next monthly meeting. It doesn't matter whether it is still legal tender or not, for example French Francs, German Deutsche Marks or Spanish Pesetas are all acceptable.
