Helmingham Hall Plant and Artisan Fair - 24 May 2026
As the temperatures soared, 48 members boarded a coach for the first outing of the year. To say the fair was busy is an understatement, it was heaving, but undeterred we explored the gardens, the plant fair, the artisan stalls and the food stands. Plants on sale ranged from humble lobelia to magnificent rare iris and lupins, climbing clematis to rampant roses, exotic tropical plants and 15' native trees. Craft Gin rubbed shoulders with delicious fudge and garden ornaments sat alongside gleaming lawn mowers.
As we trudged wearily back to the coach there was a smile on everyone's face, a day to remember for us all. A HUGE thank you to Viv Sprason for organising a great day out attended by nearly a quarter of our membership - no mean feat Viv.

Garden Lovers Talk from Louise at Fritton Owl Sanctuary
Meet 'Fleet', a beautiful barn owl reared at the Owl Sanctuary who came to visit us in May.
Louise gave an excellent and informative talk about the many different owls that have their home at the sanctuary.

Annual Lunch 2026

Poetry, fine food and excellent company
The lunch was held at the Imperial Hotel where we were made extremely welcome. The atmosphere was great and the food excellent.
We were entertained Judith Daniels, a published poet, and Pam Butcher reading selected pieces which everyone enjoyed.
Thank you to Pam for organising a lovely lunch and Wendy Styles for sending me the pictures and great report.
